Founder & Heart Behind the Mission
Betty Rosemary Nwafor’s passion for helping vulnerable children began many years ago as a university student in Nigeria. While serving through the Legion of Mary, she visited a motherless babies’ home where she encountered infants sitting and crawling on bare cement floors, without diapers, adequate clothing, or the loving arms they desperately reached for.
One small child she held refused to let go. That moment stayed with Betty and became a promise in her heart: when she was able, she would return to help children like these.
Today, Betty lives in the Netherlands with her family and works in the care sector, but her heart remains deeply connected to the communities she grew up around. What began with personally collecting clothing, diapers, food, and other necessities has grown into a wider mission of providing practical help, education and sustainable community support.
In March 2026, Betty returned from Nigeria after helping bring one of the Foundation’s biggest projects to life: a clean-water borehole and solar-powered system for a community in need. For Betty, every project is more than charity — it is an opportunity to restore dignity, share the love of Christ, and turn faith into action.
Partner in Purpose
Natascha Whitted joined Betty’s journey after the two connected through their shared passion for helping others and serving through faith. After hearing Betty speak about collecting baby clothes for children in need, Natascha immediately offered to support the mission.
Her encouragement helped Betty take what had largely been a personal calling and begin sharing the vision more publicly, opening the door for others to become part of the work.
Together, Betty and Natascha share a belief that God connects kingdom-minded people for a purpose. Through partnership, compassion and service, they are helping Divine Grace Charity Foundation grow from individual acts of giving into a community of people working together to create lasting change.
